Module 5

Factorial Designs

Learning Outcomes

After successfully completing the Module 5 Factorial Design of Experiments, students will be able to

  1. Explain the Factorial design of experiments
  2. Explain the data structure/layout of a factorial design of experiment
  3. Explain the coding systems used in a factorial design of experiment
  4. Calculate the main and the interaction effects
  5. Graphically represent the design and the analysis results, including the main effects and the interaction effects
  6. Develop the regression equations from the effects
  7. Perform the regression response surface analysis to produce the contour plot and the response surface
  8. Interpret the main and the interaction effects using the contour plot and the response surface
  9. Develop the ANOVA table from the effects
  10. Interpret the results in the context of the problem
